Standard and insulated vinyl siding in Indianapolis

Vinyl never needs paint, and a garden hose and a soft brush take care of most of its upkeep. Like any siding, it’s the layer between the weather and your walls, so a panel that cracks or works loose lets water reach the sheathing behind it. Straight, sound vinyl also helps a house look cared for when you decide to sell.

Call (866) 242-1832 when a panel cracks, rattles in the wind or starts to ripple. We replace a few damaged panels on one wall or re-side the whole house, in standard or insulated vinyl.

In business since 2008, Dynamic Restoration has an Indiana team that hangs vinyl siding on homes in Indianapolis, Fishers, Brownsburg and Franklin. You can choose lap, Dutch lap, board-and-batten or shake profiles, and house wrap and window and door flashing go on underneath. Every job starts with a free inspection and photos of each wall, with the upper stories often taken by drone.

Vinyl expands in summer heat and shrinks in winter cold, so every panel has to hang loose enough to slide. We set each nail in the center of its slot without driving the head tight, and the panels stop short of the trim and corners. Nailed tight, vinyl can ripple in the first hot spell.

Indianapolis vinyl siding for your home

  • A profile that suits your house

Lap and Dutch lap give long horizontal lines, board-and-batten suits gables and farmhouse fronts, and shake panels add texture to an accent wall.

  • Rain kept off the sheathing

House wrap behind the panels and flashing at each window and door catch rain the wind drives past the laps.

  • Panels backed by their maker

Every vinyl color fades somewhat in the sun, so we go over the manufacturer’s warranty for the panel and color you pick before we order.

  • An added layer of insulation

Insulated vinyl has rigid foam shaped to the back of each panel, and the amount it adds varies by product, so we show you the manufacturer’s rating.

Questions about vinyl siding

Is insulated vinyl siding worth the extra cost?

It depends on your walls and your goals. The foam backing makes panels stiffer, so they look straighter on older walls that aren’t perfectly flat, and it gives each panel more support against knocks. It adds some insulation, but the amount varies by product, and it doesn’t replace insulation inside the walls. We’ll show you standard and insulated options side by side, with the manufacturer’s ratings for each.

Can you replace just a few damaged vinyl panels?

Often, yes. Vinyl panels lock into each other, so a cracked panel can usually be unlocked and replaced without disturbing the rest of the wall. The harder part is matching. A new panel can look different beside one that has had years of sun, and discontinued colors and profiles can’t be bought new. When a close match isn’t possible, we’ll show you your options, such as re-siding the whole wall so the change falls at a corner.

Can vinyl siding be installed in winter?

It can, with care. Cold vinyl is stiffer and easier to crack while it’s cut and handled, and panels installed on a cold day need more room at the trim and corners for the expansion summer brings. We plan for the temperature on the day of the install. If a repair can wait for milder weather, we may suggest it, but we won’t leave a hole open to the weather.

How do I clean vinyl siding?

Most of the time, a garden hose, a soft brush and mild soapy water are enough. Rinse well so soap doesn’t dry on the panels. Mildew on a shady wall is common and usually washes off the same way. Go easy with a pressure washer, since spraying up under the laps can force water behind the siding, and check your manufacturer’s care guide for cleaners to avoid.
