When it’s time for a new roof on your Indianapolis home

Every roof wears out, and once one leaks in more than one place or needs a repair every season, patching stops paying off. A new roof protects the decking, the attic and everything under it, so the next storm is one less thing to worry about.

Call (866) 242-1832 when your roof starts showing its age, from curling shingles to granules in the gutters or a leak that keeps coming back. Not every tired roof needs replacing, and if the damage sits in one area, a repair may be the better call and we’ll tell you so. We take on both, and when a full replacement is the right fix, we handle all of it, from tear-off to the final walkthrough.

Dynamic Restoration has been replacing roofs since 2008, and as a GAF Master Elite® contractor we install complete GAF roof systems, or standing-seam metal if you prefer. Our Indiana team re-roofs homes from Indianapolis out to Carmel, Greenwood and Avon, and each job starts with a free inspection, photographed slope by slope, often by drone.

We tear the old roof off down to the decking, the wood the shingles are nailed to, because that’s the only way to see what shape it’s in. Older homes can hide several layers of shingles over the original boards, and anything soft or rotted is replaced before anything new goes down. From there the new roof is built up in layers, the way the diagram below shows.

Your replacement includes

  • A free inspection with photos
  • Tear-off down to the deck, with soft boards replaced
  • Leak barrier, underlayment and starter strip
  • Timberline HDZ® shingles, ridge vents and ridge cap
  • Clean-up and a final walkthrough with you

A roof is a system, not just shingles.

This is how a complete GAF roof goes on, layer by layer, the way a GAF Master Elite crew installs it.

  1. Solid roof deck

    Sheathing

Once the old roof is off we check the decking, and replace soft or damaged boards before anything new goes down.

  2. Leak barrier

    GAF StormGuard® or WeatherWatch®

Self-adhering membrane at the eaves, valleys and penetrations, where ice dams and wind-driven rain do the most damage.

  3. Roof deck protection

    GAF FeltBuster®, Tiger Paw™ or Deck-Armor™

Synthetic underlayment across the rest of the deck, a second line of defense that lies flat under the shingles.

  4. Starter strip

    GAF Pro-Start®

Pre-cut starter shingles seal the first course at the eaves and rakes against wind uplift.

  5. Lifetime shingles

    GAF Timberline HDZ® with LayerLock™

Architectural shingles with a wide nailing zone, so each one is fastened where it holds best.

  6. Attic ventilation

    GAF Cobra® ridge vent

Lets hot, damp attic air out at the ridge, protecting the decking in summer and helping prevent ice dams in winter.

  7. Ridge cap shingles

    GAF Seal-A-Ridge® or TimberTex®

Matching cap shingles finish the hips and ridge, the most exposed edges of the roof.

Signs it’s time for a new roof

  • Curled, cracked or missing shingles across the roof
  • Shingle granules piling up in the gutters
  • Leaks in more than one place
  • Stains or damp wood in the attic
  • Repairs that keep coming back

How your project runs

We keep you posted the whole way, from the inspection findings and our recommendation to the date the crew arrives and what to expect on install day.

  1. Before install day

We confirm your shingle and color, order materials and set a date. Move cars from the driveway and take fragile things off the walls, since the hammering can rattle them.

  2. Tear-off

The crew strips the old shingles and underlayment down to the wood and hauls the debris away.

  3. Deck and leak barrier

We replace damaged decking, then put down leak barrier and underlayment, so the house is covered before a single shingle goes on.

  4. Shingles and ventilation

Starter strip, shingles, flashing, ridge vents and ridge cap go on in order, to GAF’s installation specifications.

  5. Clean-up and walkthrough

We clean up the site and walk the finished roof with you. You pay on completion, and we register your eligible warranty.

Indianapolis roof replacement for your home

Our GAF roofs go on as complete systems, from StormGuard® leak barrier and FeltBuster® underlayment to Timberline HDZ® shingles and Cobra® ridge vents, all to GAF’s installation specifications.

  • The same new shingle on every slope

Because the whole roof is replaced at once, every slope gets the same shingle in the color you chose, with no patched-in sections.

  • Sealed where wind and ice get in

Leak barrier lines the eaves, valleys and openings, and a starter strip seals the first course of shingles against wind uplift.

  • Enhanced warranty options

Your new roof carries its manufacturer’s warranty, and on a qualifying complete GAF system we can also register GAF’s enhanced coverage as a Master Elite® contractor.

  • A better-ventilated attic

Cobra® ridge vents let hot, damp air out of the attic at the peak, which helps keep the decking dry and the insulation working.

Questions about roof replacement

Don’t see yours? Call (866) 242-1832 and ask.

Call (866) 242-1832
How long does a roof replacement take?

Most homes are torn off and re-roofed in a day or two. A large or steep roof, several old layers to remove or a lot of rotted decking can add time, and rain or high wind can push your start date. We’ll tell you what to expect for your roof before the crew arrives, and we’ll call you if the weather moves the date.

What warranty comes with a new roof?

Every roof we install carries its manufacturer’s warranty, and many are lifetime and transferable. As a GAF Master Elite® contractor, we can register GAF’s enhanced warranties on qualifying complete GAF roof systems, including GAF’s Golden Pledge®, which is offered only through Master Elite contractors. We’ll go over which warranty fits your roof before you sign.

Can I finance a new roof?

Yes, financing is available. Either way, payment is made on completion, once the work is done and you’ve walked the finished roof with us. Ask about financing at your free inspection, or see our financing page for how it works. Our warranty page covers the manufacturers’ coverage in more detail.

How much does a roof replacement cost in Indianapolis?

It depends on the roof, so we price each one after the inspection. The biggest factors are the roof’s size, measured in squares of 100 square feet, how steep it is, how many layers come off, how much decking needs replacing, the shingle line you choose, and details such as chimneys, skylights and valleys. Your written proposal lists all of it, and financing is available.

Can you help with my HOA’s approval?

Yes. Many newer subdivisions have an HOA that approves exterior colors and materials before work starts, and we’ll give you the exact product and color names to submit with your application.
