Roof work for every age of Indianapolis house

Every Indianapolis house, from a 1920s bungalow to a 2000s two-story, depends on its roof to keep the attic, ceilings and walls dry. The city’s median home dates to 1973 by Census estimates for 2020–2024, so a typical house here may already be on its second or third roof. Keeping the current one in good repair protects what’s underneath, and its condition shows up in any buyer’s inspection report.

Call (866) 242-1832 when you spot trouble, like a dark patch on a bedroom ceiling or shingle tabs scattered across the driveway after a windy night. The job might be as small as a new boot around one plumbing vent in Irvington, or as big as a full tear-off on a two-story near the county line.

Dynamic Restoration has been in business since 2008, and in Indiana our crews cover all of Marion County, Speedway and Beech Grove included. You can choose a complete GAF shingle roof or a standing-seam metal one, and our GAF Master Elite® status lets us register GAF’s enhanced warranties on a qualifying system. Before we suggest anything, we inspect the roof for free and photograph it, by drone when the roof allows.

Roughly one Indianapolis house in six dates from 1939 or earlier, more than a third from 1950 to 1979 and nearly one in five from 2000 on. The oldest often have extra layers stacked on plank decking. Postwar ranches have long, low rooflines and shallow attics, so airflow matters as much as the shingles. The newest are usually still on a first roof that’s starting to show its age.

What we do for Indianapolis homes

  • Full tear-off roof replacement, down to the deck
  • Roof repair for leaks, missing shingles and flashing
  • Photo inspections after hail and wind, plus help with your claim paperwork
  • Vinyl and James Hardie fiber cement siding
  • 5″ and 6″ seamless aluminum gutters and Gutter Cap guards

What Indianapolis homes need

A brick and stone home with two dormers under a new charcoal shingle roof

Roof replacement, from historic districts to new subdivisions

We tear every Indianapolis roof off to the deck rather than laying new shingles over old ones, so soft boards and rot get fixed instead of buried. You pick the color of your GAF Timberline HDZ® shingles, and our crew installs the whole system to GAF’s exact specifications.

Lockerbie Square, Irvington, the Old Northside, Woodruff Place and the city’s other historic districts hold many of its oldest houses. Their roofs often meet chimneys, dormers and porch roofs at several angles, and every one of those joints gets new flashing when we reroof. We also help you pick a shingle profile and color that suit the age of the house.

Roof repair when one spot is the problem

Not every leak means a new roof. A lifted shingle, a cracked pipe boot or loose chimney flashing can let water into an otherwise sound roof. We trace the leak, show you the photos and fix it. If the roof is close to worn out, we tell you that too.

Hail hits circled in blue chalk on a gray shingle roof

Hail and wind damage across Marion County

Hail and high wind can reach every part of Marion County in spring and summer, from the older streets near downtown to the newer subdivisions at the county line. Hail bruises shingles in ways you can’t see from the driveway, so after a storm we get on the roof and photograph each hit. If wind has torn shingles off and left bare decking, we put a tarp over it to keep rain out until the repair.

If you file a claim, we meet your adjuster on the roof, go over what we found with them and help with the paperwork. Your insurance company decides what your policy covers.

Siding that suits the house

A 1920s brick-and-frame house and a 2005 two-story call for different siding. We install James Hardie fiber cement and vinyl, including insulated vinyl, and replace panels that hail or wind have cracked.

Seamless gutters made for the roof above them

Our gutters are 5″ or 6″ seamless aluminum, formed on site to the length of each run, with downspouts that carry water away from the foundation. We repair soft fascia and soffit behind old gutters and can add Gutter Cap guards.

What working with us looks like in Indianapolis

There’s no guessing with us. You’ll know what the inspection found and what the job takes, and you’ll hear the crew’s start date, from the first visit right through to the finish.

  • Airflow planned for low ranch roofs

On a long, low ranch roof we check soffit intake and ridge exhaust and close any gap in the re-roof plan, so damp air can leave a shallow attic.

  • Porch and dormer joints reflashed

Where the main roof meets a chimney, a dormer or a porch roof, we put in new metal flashing rather than reusing old pieces or leaning on caulk.

  • One crew for roof, siding and gutters

Because we install all three, the drip edge, flashing and gutters on your house are planned together instead of being pieced in by separate trades.

  • Colors picked for the age of the house

We bring shingle samples that fit a 1920s brick bungalow or a 2000s two-story, and you make the final choice.

Questions from Indianapolis homeowners

Something else on your mind? Call (866) 242-1832 and ask.

Do you also cover Beech Grove, Southport and Speedway?

Yes. Beech Grove, Southport and Speedway are all part of our Marion County service area. Homes there get the same free inspection with photos and the same roofing, siding and gutter work as houses across Indianapolis.

Should a new roof on a 1960s ranch include new ventilation?

Often, yes. A ranch’s long, low roofline and shallow attic can trap heat and moisture that wear out shingles and decking early. During the inspection we check the intake vents at the soffits and the exhaust at the ridge, and any fix goes into the plan for your new roof.

How do I pay for a roof replacement in Indianapolis?

You pay when the job is done, after we walk the finished roof with you in a final inspection. Financing is available if you’d rather spread the cost out, and on a qualifying complete GAF roof we can register GAF’s enhanced warranties.
