Roofs for Noblesville houses old and new

A Noblesville home might date from before 1940 or from the last few years, and either way the roof is what stands between the weather and everything you own. The Census Bureau counts about 1,800 homes here built in 1939 or earlier, while more than half went up in 2000 or later. Keeping that roof in repair protects the framing and insulation now, and it will matter to whoever buys the house from you.

Call (866) 242-1832 if you find a drip in the attic, shingles in the yard or a limb resting on the roof after a windy night. We’ll replace a few shingles on a newer house, rebuild a section a tree broke through or tear every layer off an old roof and start over.

Dynamic Restoration started roofing in 2008, and our Indiana crews cover the city plus Cicero, Arcadia, Atlanta and Sheridan in the northern part of Hamilton County. Along with shingle and standing-seam metal roofs, we put up seamless gutters and vinyl or James Hardie siding, and GAF lists us among its Master Elite® contractors. The first step on any Noblesville job is a free inspection, with the roof photographed close up, often by drone.

Around the courthouse square and in Johnstown, a southwest-side neighborhood that took shape in the 1890s, houses can be more than a century old. Under the current shingles, there may be an older roof or two and plank boards instead of plywood. In the newer subdivisions, storm repairs and HOA color approvals come up more often than worn-out boards.

What Noblesville homes need

A new gray architectural shingle roof with a stone chimney above a neighborhood, seen from a drone

Older roofs near downtown

On a house from the early 1900s, the roof you see may sit on top of one or two older ones. We take off every layer down to the deck, renew any board too rotted or worn to hold a nail, and build the new roof from there. Leak barrier along the eaves matters on these homes, where winter ice dams can push water back under the shingles.

When a tree comes through the roof

Wind can bring down a heavy limb or a whole tree almost anywhere in Noblesville, from the older blocks near the square to a lake lot by Morse Reservoir. When one comes through the roof, we photograph the damage as we find it and tarp the opening to keep more water out. Once the tree has been cleared, we rebuild the broken decking and the roof above it.

If you file a claim, our photos show the adjuster what the tree did, and we can meet them at the house and help with the paperwork. Your insurance company decides what the policy covers.

Metal for farmhouses and lake homes

Standing-seam metal suits a farmhouse on a few acres as well as a lake home near Morse Reservoir. The panels run from ridge to eave with raised seams, and the fasteners are hidden beneath them rather than exposed on the face of the roof.

Siding, old and new

We replace worn siding with vinyl, insulated vinyl or James Hardie fiber cement. On an older home we check the sheathing and trim as the old siding comes off; on a newer one, we work from the colors and profiles your HOA allows.

Gutters that carry water away

Each seamless aluminum gutter is made on site to match its run, in 5″ or 6″, with downspouts that send water clear of the foundation. Add Gutter Cap guards if big trees drop leaves on your roof.

What we bring to Noblesville homes, old and new

From our first visit until the work is done, you’ll know what we found, what the job involves and when the crew will be at your house.

  • A sound deck under the new roof

With the old roof stripped, you see the boards in our photos, and the soft ones are replaced before anything new is installed.

  • Ice-dam protection at the eaves

Leak barrier goes down along the eaves and valleys, which helps stop meltwater from an ice dam from getting under the shingles.

  • A choice of metal or shingles

We install standing-seam metal as well as complete GAF shingle roofs, so a farmhouse or lake home can have either.

  • The opening covered first

When a limb breaks through, we photograph the damage and tarp the hole, so rain stays out until the decking and roof are rebuilt.

Questions from Noblesville homeowners

Something else on your mind? Call (866) 242-1832 and ask.

Call (866) 242-1832
My older house has two layers of shingles. Can you roof over them?

We don’t. Every roof we install starts with a full tear-off, so we can check the decking, replace bad boards and give the new system a solid base. It also takes the weight of the old layers off your rafters.

Do you work outside the city, in Cicero, Arcadia, Atlanta or Sheridan?

Yes. We serve northern Hamilton County as well as the city, including farmhouses and homes around Morse Reservoir. The process is the same everywhere you are, with a free inspection, photos of what we find, and a recommendation you can take or leave.

Is metal roofing worth it on an old farmhouse?

It can be, especially if you plan to stay a long time. Standing-seam metal sheds rain and snow quickly and stands up well to wind. It costs more up front than shingles, so we’ll lay out both options side by side and let you weigh them.
