Greenfield roofing, siding and gutters

Some Greenfield homes in the residential historic district date back to the 1880s, others have gone up since 2010, and each kind of roof wears in its own way. Dynamic Restoration inspects, repairs and replaces roofs, siding and gutters on homes all over Greenfield, old and new.

Greenfield roofing, from bungalows to new builds

Roughly one Greenfield home in four was built before 1970, by Census estimates, while more than four in ten date from 2000 or later. Whatever its age, your roof keeps the walls, insulation and ceilings dry, and a buyer’s home inspector will look it over closely. Spotting wear before it turns into a leak means you choose when the work happens.

When you see curling shingles, a gutter pulling away at the corner or paint peeling off the fascia, call (866) 242-1832. We’ll replace a few hail-cracked shingles or one stretch of rotted trim, and we also tear off whole roofs, re-side houses and hang complete gutter systems.

We’ve been putting roofs on houses since 2008, and our Indiana crews take jobs anywhere in Hancock County, whether you live in Greenfield or out in McCordsville, New Palestine or Fortville. On those jobs we put on GAF shingle roofs, James Hardie fiber cement and 5″ or 6″ seamless aluminum gutters. We begin with a free inspection, often flying a drone over the roof, so you see a photo of every slope before deciding anything.

The Greenfield Residential Historic District alone holds 523 contributing buildings, put up from about 1880 to 1947 in Italianate, Queen Anne, Colonial Revival and Craftsman styles. A steep, many-gabled Queen Anne roof flashes differently from a low-pitched Craftsman roof with deep eaves. Either one may still rest on its original board decking, so we check every board once the shingles are off.

What Greenfield homes need

Re-roofing older Greenfield houses

On an older house we take the roof down to the boards and see what’s there before anything new goes on. Cracked or rotted decking gets replaced, then we install leak barrier, underlayment, shingles and ventilation to the manufacturer’s specifications. You pick the GAF shingle line and the color.

Hail on older and newer Greenfield roofs

Hail doesn’t mark every roof the same way. Shingles that have weathered for decades on an older Greenfield house can crack or lose whole patches of granules, while a roof on one of the newer houses may only show small bruises up close. Either way, we check every slope, the vents and the gutters, then mark and photograph each hit so you can see what the storm did.

Help with a storm claim

If you file with your insurance company, we meet the adjuster at your house, go over the damage we documented and help you keep the paperwork straight. The insurer decides what the policy covers, and our photos give the adjuster a clear record to work from.

Siding with the look of wood

James Hardie fiber cement gives a house the lines of painted lap siding, which suits many of Greenfield’s older homes, and it won’t rot the way wood does. We replace siding wall by wall or all at once, with new trim at the corners and windows.

Gutters sized for the roof

We form 5″ or 6″ seamless aluminum gutters on site to fit each run, then add downspouts that move water away from the foundation. If the fascia behind the old gutters has rotted, we repair it before the new ones go up.

Working with us on a Greenfield home

You’ll get the inspection photos, a plain explanation of the work and the crew’s schedule from us, and we stay in touch until the job is finished.

  • Hail read right on old and new roofs

Weathered shingles tend to crack or lose patches of granules under hail while newer ones show small bruises, and we look for both before telling you what the storm did.

  • Help when you file a claim

If you file, we walk the adjuster through our photos on site and help you keep the paperwork in order, and coverage stays the insurance company’s call.

  • Siding that suits an older house

James Hardie lap siding, with new trim at the corners and windows, fits the lines of Greenfield’s Craftsman and Colonial Revival homes.

  • Gutters that stay put

We repair rotted fascia before new seamless gutters go up, so they’re fastened to solid wood instead of pulling away at the corners like the old ones.

Questions from Greenfield homeowners

Something else on your mind? Call (866) 242-1832 and ask.

Call (866) 242-1832
Will you replace rotted decking on an older Greenfield house?

Yes, before the new roof goes on. On an older house, we only know how much decking is bad once the old shingles are off, so we photograph the boards, tell you how many need replacing and go over the change with you before we continue.

Do you cover McCordsville, New Palestine and Fortville as well?

Yes. We serve all of Hancock County, including McCordsville, New Palestine and Fortville, as well as Greenfield itself. Wherever you are in the county, the inspection is free and comes with photos of what we find.

When do I pay, and is financing available?

You pay once the work is finished and you’ve walked the completed job with us. Financing is available for spreading out the cost, and we can go over the options after you’ve seen the inspection photos and our recommendation.
